My 2011 WishMy New Years Wish
In a time marked with bottles of champagne, flashbacks of yesteryear, and half empty resolutions, I like to look at things a different way. I have never made promises to myself that I know I wouldn't be able to keep, resolutions are the same way. Anyone can say that their resolution is to lose weight, finally get a girl, or anything else, however very few of those people actually have the resolve to go through with their hopes.
I don't have a hope for the New Year, instead I have a wish. However, how is a wish different from a resolution? Simple, a resolution is a goal that a person sets for themselves, and they need to work with their own powers to get it. A wish on the other hand, is something that is made the heavens and with the wish, the person also sends for strength and guidance, in my opinion. A wish can't be fulfilled though without some effort from a person, however it can bring you part of the way.
My wish for 2011, isn't anything like world peace, e
Tick of the ClockAs the ticks of the clock march by
We are left with much to think
Has this life been much at all?
Dancing images of children with their novelties,
One must envy such innocence
Wholly unaware of the passing's, the tremor of hearts.
Adolescents are shown the door to prosperity,
Yet countless numbers abandon their dreams
Many, existing and thriving within the plains of reality that they know,
Know not of what might have been.
Answering to the executives, by starting in the depth of hell,
The powerless human works for strength, to obtain valor,
Days seemingly blend together, repetition is the norm.
The ticks of the clock march by,
Memories of yesteryear play in the mind,
"Oh those were such simpler times," the elderly say
Reflections of their past, glowing like an ember that went astray from the flame.
Plagued by hardships, loves, and losses, a tear shimmers against the sun
Laying in their final resting place, their story ends, and yet
The ticks of the clock march by...
Ten Reasons Why I Love YouTen Reasons Why I Love You:
You've always been there for me, through the good and the bad times,
I can talk to you about anything and you will not judge me based off of what we discuss,
You have a way of making me feel like I am the most important person in the world when we are together,
Whenever you would run on ahead, you would eventually wait for me to catch up,
You let me cry on your shoulder when something bad has happened,
You have never asked me for anything that I couldn't give,
You've always been considerate of who I am and when I want to spend my days with others around me,
You have been the only person to see my crazy antics and laugh saying that I was "cute,"
I love you, because when I look into your eyes, I can see that you love me as well.
ChangeWhat is change?
Change is when something evolves, or becomes different from what we know it as. Change happens all the time, everywhere, on the internet, in real life. Change always happens, it always has, and it always will.
Recently, DeviantART has gone through change, the website upgraded from version six to version seven. With all version releases, there will be bugs, but most of all, there will be unhappy deviants. This is to be expected with every bit of change that happens. There is no way to please every one person with this change, but one thing remains certain.
DeviantART v7 is here, and it is here to stay. No matter how many times you say "Change it back" version six will not come back.
So with all of this talk of "change," I have been thinking a lot lately, The United States of America went through change, wasn't President Barack Obama's presidential campaign slogan "Change We Can Believe In?" When President Obama was elected, the United States changed the way it ran. For t
little violoneThe earth for all its years could sing without me.
Past the sky, the listening spheres sing without me.
Deep in the woods, the nymphs and spirits flit
through the old trees. They hear, but sing without me.
Within my heartstrings hums the flesh of beasts,
threads with no bloody veneer - sing without me.
Now the crawling creatures are left alone;
coiled metal seals the nuclear - sing without me.
Carvings and curves of a feminine feel,
like ink into her back seared - sing without me.
Artists work my tongue with pen and horsehair -
groups of musicians here won't sing without me.
With ease, I can mimic the human voice;
to great peaks I dive and rear, so sing without me.
I don't need your voice. I am in command
of sonorous solos. Dear, sing without me,
or try. My fairy, phantom garbed in white,
you couldn't bear, puppeteer, sing without me.
Surprise Tea Party From HellMy Jack Frosting is gone,
Once I finish my drug-laced Earl Grey tea.
Now, what are they going to do to me?
I Can't Even SewI may not be a weaver,
but occasionally I catch this odd disease--
I think it’s called something like creativity,
but I strike a chord somewhere in you,
and for some reason you strike something in me too,
and we sew the shattered pieces of our shattered hearts
back together again. (Praying that I don’t rip it apart.)
I am convinced by the boogeyman’s
arachnid fingertips covered in lye that
you are my angel somehow, and you
fight the monsters I have inside.
