Suggestion: Groups and News by *Nyiana-Sama is an interesting and thoughtful suggestion regarding the dilemma group owners and contributors currently face when trying to post group features and interviews as news articles.

Since groups was released, the way that deviants interact with each other has changed a lot, and mostly for the better. We can efficiently communicate through blogs, and everything is much better organized.

However, there is one thing that I have noticed. Since I am a deviant that runs news article features through groups, there are only a couple of ways to let the deviants know about the feature. One option is to write a blog informing them of the news article that was posted, and hope that the deviants open the blog and then click on the link. If you are informing the deviant that they have been featured in an article, then you can send them a comment or reply. I have noticed that since groups have launched, that there is not a way to send news articles through the groups.

My suggestion, would be to edit the news submission page, have it be more customized to each deviant. If a deviant is submitting a news article that focuses one group's news, then there should be an option to submit the news article to the group that they are a contributor or higher in. It would look much like the deviation submission process. Also, an option of submitting a news article solely to the group should be offered, this way if the deviant only wants members and watchers of a group to see the article, then it is possible. For groups, if a contributor submits an article, there should be an option to let the higher ups, Moderators, Co-Founders, and/or Founders to review, approve, or deny the article as they see fit.

As for how news features submitted through groups would look, it would be similar to blog updates. An example would be,
"#UnseenArtists Self Pimp-Out Vol. 7
#UnseenArtists Article, written by *Nyiana-Sama

A weekly news article feature series featuring deviations from the group #UnseenArtists. Make sure to check out and support the artists inside!".

It would have the group icon on the right side, the same with normal icons. It would show up under the news article stacks, same as the articles that are submitted and show up in the message center now.

If this feature were to be implemented, then groups would have a much better way to reach out and get news and features out to their members and watchers. This way, each person who has the group in their devwatch can see and open the article. If a group has five thousand watchers, then five thousand people will have easy access to the article right from their message center.

I really hope to see an idea like this come into existence in the future.
So, as a deviant who runs multiple news articles through groups, mainly #UnseenArtists, I believe that this idea could change and improve how groups communicate with their members and watchers.

This idea combines aspects from the deviation submission process and blogs. If this suggestion were to be implemented on this site in one way or another, groups can reach their watchers and members in a whole new way.
