This week's feature is Soen
1.) To start off, what is your favorite medium and tools to use?
I don't think I really have a favorite tool to use. I like to work traditionally as well as digitally. But if I had to name one, I'd say: ink. Just black ink.
2.) When you draw, do you plan everything out first, or do you just see where the drawing takes you?
Most of the time I roughly plan the illustrations in my head before drawing them because they have a certain purpose or are even commissions. But from time to time – or in livestreams when I'm not working on something specific – I like to just start doodling something and see where it takes me.
3.) On average

Project Educate: Interview with Namie-kunAs part of Project Educate, some questions were put together for some of the wonderful Manga/Anime artists in our community. And so, today I bring you the first of the interviews!
Today we feature Namie-kun
1. To start off, what is your favorite medium and tools to use?
My favorite would definetely be my laptop and tablet! Less mess, no scanners to fiddle with, easier to bring snacks and I can watch anime and read manga on the side ahah~; Still, the feel of pencil on paper is nothing technology can beat!
2. When you draw, do you plan everything out first, or do you just see where the drawing takes you?
I find that drawing without plans and leaping before looking is more fun. When I plan sometimes pictures don't come out the way I expected it to be; However sometimes it comes out even better! It's really on the whim whether I plan or not~
3. On average, how long do you spend on a drawing?
A Picture I upload onto DA would

Manga/Anime Tutorial Hub: Drawing AnimeSo what's this all about? A while back I decided that it would be best to create a place where tutorials that are vital to Manga/Anime artists to have a home, an easy place to reach if they felt that they ever needed it. One by one articles featuring tutorials based off of specific trades and mediums will be posted, and in the end a master article that'll unite them all together. The hope is to have as much as possible in one easy to reach place. This time around its Drawing Anime's turn.

Manga/Anime Digital Gallery FeatureWelcome to Digital Manga/Anime! This is an article that will be highlighting each section of the digital art subcategory within Manga/Anime with a little about each category and then some wonderful features for you to enjoy!
Firstly, what is “digital art”? It is artwork created via the use of digital media such as on a computer with a tablet or mouse. There are 6 digital art subcategories within the Manga/Anime gallery:
Digital M/A: DrawingsDigital M/A: PaintingsDigital M/A: OekakiDigital M/A: Manga Digital M/A: Vector Digital M/A: 3D
Manga/Anime > Digital Media > Drawings
So, what is the ‘Drawings’ category all about? Digital drawings are, basically, drawings that have been done with digital media (i.e., on a computer). The variety within the category is huge, simply because there are so many ways to draw and/or colour digitally and it is the most popular of the
PE Interview with DD Recipient AwsumzWhile planing for Daily Deviations PE week many in the community asked for interviews from deviants who had received DDs with varying experiences before. AwsumZ has received a handful of DDs between his current account as well as his previous account, as such we felt he has went through a range of experiences with DDs as a recipient.
What was it like when you received your first DD?
Exciting, but also a slight shame because I was a CV (or GD, then) at the time and I saw that it was coming so it wasn't as much as a surprise as I'd have liked it to be lol. It was fun though, a happy magical feeling
Have all of your experiences when receiving a DD been the same?
Hmm, not really. Some have been good and some have been fairly negative
What do DDs mean to you?
They're pretty awesome. Being featured is great, it really helps get some exposure and feedback, etc. but it

Seniority Announcement - June 2012
This article marks the latest announcements detailing the latest additions to the dizzy height of Senior members in our community. With just over 900 deviants holding the highly saught after ` -- it's clearly a moment that deserves recognition.
So what does it take to become a Senior? That's a question many have asked and have never really been able to get a straight answer on. Some have gained Seniority as a thank you for their time spent as a Volunteer, or to recognise their contribution to a particular project or collaborative action. Some have gained Seniority because of their community spirit, providing help and assistance to many other deviants and taking time out to promote the work of others in the community.
