:star:Manga/Anime Spotlight: Jyinxe:star:

Manga/Anime Spotlight is a weekly feature that highlights the different artists across the deviantART's Manga/Anime community, and is a portal to get to know a bit more about them and their works.

This week's feature is Jyinxe

:bulletgreen:1.) To start off, what is your favorite medium and tools to use?

My favourite medium is traditional art, but I would love to learn to colour on the computer properly one day (I'm not a very patient person). I tend to use Prisma colour pencil crayons the most to colour, trading them out once in a while for Crayola. I use Staedtler pigment liners for my lineart (usually .1 or .3) and gelly roll pens for shine.

:bulletgreen:2.) When you draw, do you plan everything out first, or do you just see where the drawing takes you?

I try to plan everything out before hand because I like to have an idea of what I'm doing. The picture doesn't always end up the way I planned – but it helps me figure out what I'm doing.

:bulletgreen:3.) On average, how long do you spend on a drawing?

Usually it takes me about a half hour to sketch out my pieces – another hour to line – and 2 – 3 hours to colour – unless the piece has a full background – so roughly 5 hours?

:bulletgreen:4.) When did you first start drawing, and what made you start to draw in the manga/anime style?

I have been drawing since I was a little girl – and I fell in love with the style the first time I watched Sailor Moon (I was four when it came on TV at my grandfather's house) and I decided that the beautiful style was what I wanted to draw :)

:bulletgreen:5.) What are your inspirations for drawing?

I am inspired by a lot of music – I have a wide range to listen to – my iPod is filled with anything from Rap, heavy metal and pop to classical. I am also influenced by the people I know, the TV I watch:

:bulletgreen:6.) Do you have any artists that you look up to?

I definitely look up to my aunt (not a famous painter but she's got an art degree), I love the pictures by Tukiji Nao – who's detailed work has always made me want to be more patient with what I do – and Lady Gaga – because she's a wonderful inspiration for anyone who dares to be different.

:bulletgreen:7.) Out of the works in your gallery, what are your five favorite pieces?

First Place: Leaves First Place: Leaves by Jyinxe , .Pokerface.

:bulletgreen:8.) Do you have any tips for young aspiring artists?

I know this is said so very often, but it can't be stressed enough – Practice! I have been drawing since I was a little girl – and I still need to work on a lot of things. Don't expect that you'll be perfect the first time – but don't give up because you'll get there :) Be patient – it's worth it!

:bulletgreen:9.) Are there any other types of art that enjoy?

I love realism. If I was patient enough for it I would take it up. I also love watercolour paintings – and still life photography

:bulletgreen:10.) Is there anything else that you would like to add?

:) Thanks for the interview!
